Sustainable House Day is back once again!
We’ve been proud supporters and contributors to this event since the early days. The success of SHD has always come from the generous spirit of homeowners, design professionals and construction industry folk who want to share their learnings and pay it forward… so there can be #betterbuildings that are healthier for people and planet.
This year the “main event” is 19th March 2023, with a huge program of free online events to tune into. (There’s a few real-life in-person open-houses, but not as many as pre-Covid times.)

- Our director, Dick Clarke will be hosting a session online at 2pm, “Running on sun: Using solar energy at home”.
There are also 2023 Program: Extension Sessions running over the following month with some great topics!
Week 3 is all about Sustainable Heating and Cooling, and our Director, Talina Edwards will be hosting two sessions that go for 2 hours each on zoom.
- April 4th: Warm enough, cool enough: The principles of passive solar design (with Jenny Edwards, Light House Architecture & Science and Graham Hunt, Delisle Hunt Wood)
- April 6th: Comfortable and affordable: Making the most of insulation and energy efficiency (with Tim Forcey, My Efficient Electric Home and Dr Sarah Feiss, Sustainability Victoria)
There’s plenty more to check out on the program with some inspiring topics and insightful speakers lined up!
The latest issue of Sanctuary Magazine is also the Sustainable House Day Special! It’s a bumper issue, including contributions from our team – on sale in all good newsagents or online.
