Two boxes. One to Code. One the Passive House standard. 720kg of ice. Guess what happens next for a chance to win…

Envirotecture are proud to be part of Icebox Challenge Melbourne. An Australian-first the event is a physical demonstration of the benefits of Passive House construction. Two boxes are placed in the elements for 12 days, one built to minimum Building Code compliance and the other to the Passive House (or Passivhaus) standard. 720kg of ice is placed in each box. We wait, we see how much ice is left in each box. It’s guaranteed to be more fun than watching paint dry or grass grow!
Envirotecture have donated a prize to the guessing game of ‘how much ice is left at the end’; a free Passive House feasibility. This essential service will allow one lucky (or very very clever) home owner to see whether their current new home design is able to meet the Passive House standard and achieve fantastic levels of comfort with low energy use. If it doesn’t, we’ll make recommendations to help them achieve their best, most comfortable, health home.
