ROLE: Interior Designer / Interior Architect

- Envirotecture (NSW) has recently merged with Talina Edwards Architecture (VIC) and we have a growing team.
- We’re an award-winning architectural practice with two locations (NSW-northern beaches and VIC-Ballarat).
- We have been recognised for over 25 years for our leadership in sustainable & regenerative design.
- We share a passion for creating healthy, beautiful, functional, comfortable and sustainable architecture.
- Our current projects are predominantly residential, designed to the international Certified Passive House (Passivhaus) standard, integrated with biophilic design and the Living Building Challenge (LBC) concepts for a Living Future.
- We currently work on projects across the country, but most are within a 100km radius of our NSW and VIC studios.
What’s the gig?
Envirotecture is looking for an outstanding Interior Designer / Interior Architect with at least three years full time experience to deliver sustainable homes (& some commercial projects too) to join us.
Is this you?
You would have experience designing, documenting and delivering interiors projects from start to finish, including (but not limited to) spatial planning, collaboration with our architectural team, coordination with consultants, client liaison, detailing and documentation including specifications/selections, and sustainability and material/product knowledge for interiors.

- Vectorworks experience is preferable but not essential if you have a similar BIM experience and are willing to learn.
- A love for nature and biophilic design
- Being an advocate for more ethical material/product selections & priorities (i.e. Consideration of Indoor Air Quality, Responsible Sourcing, Avoiding Red List Chemicals, and Embodied Carbon)
What do my working-days look like?
- Ideally work either in the NSW studio (located on the Northern Beaches of Sydney) OR our VIC studio (located in Ballarat in regional Victoria) but also remotely/online for our interstate projects/clients/collaborators. (Consideration will be made for a remote-role for a successful applicant who has the appropriate experience/skills).
- Ideally a part-time role, but open to discussion about leading towards a full-time role.
- Work as part of the whole design team, taking responsibility for the interiors from concept stage right through to commissioning and handover.
- Prepare documentation including schedules, sketches, drawings, diagrams etc to explain the design to other team members and to the client, approvals authorities and contractors.
- Be involved in the quality review of drawings and specifications, identifying and resolving issues with the project lead as needed.
- Be involved with establishing and maintaining project objectives and budget, including record keeping.
- Advise on appropriate selection of products/materials when prioritising sustainable outcomes/budget considerations
- Assist in management and currency of the material library – both physically in our studios and on-line.

Pay and conditions:
Pay by negotiation according to your experience and demonstrated abilities, but always above award rates, with flexible working hours.
